First Global Event of 2012 A Success!
This past Friday, we made history with the very first all dubstep festival to take over Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Global Dub Festival! The event sold out over a week in advance, packing out the rocks with over 10,000 dubstep enthusiasts. The festival was nothing short of mayhem, with Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Datsik, Downlink, and Dirtyloud turning up the bass at the amphitheatre like never before!
The sold out event is indicative of how strong the demand for dubstep in Colorado has become in the past few years, as well as how much the dance community has grown in strength and size in general. Colorado's undying support for electronic music is tremendous and it only seems to be gaining momentum as the years go on. Global Dance Festival began as a modest event with a little over 1,000 attendees and has since grown to be Colorado's biggest dance music event that people travel to from all over the country. It is a celebration of our culture and an opportunity to experience dance music in one of the world's most breath-taking settings.
2012 has already been a landmark year for dance music in Colorado, starting with Decadence NYE. As the first electronic music event to take place at the Colorado Convention Center, the sold out event propelled dance music to new heights, which was further cemented with the massive success of Global Dub Festival. As we push further into the year, our excitement for the 10th anniversary of Global Dance Festival continues to grow. Tickets are selling faster than ever this year and we are gearing up for the biggest GDF in history.
The first Global event of the year sold out, so we encourage you to purchase tickets for Global Dance Festival as soon as possible so you do not risk missing out! If you loved Global Dub Festival, be sure to check out the lineup for Sunday of Global Dance Festival, featuring a full set of heavy-hitters in dubstep, including Excision, Zeds Dead, Kill The Noise, and more!
